Tony Ventura​

Life Membership was awarded to Tony Ventura at the Annual General Meeting in August 2023. At the time of the AGM, Tony had been a member for 25 years, joining the Association in when he was appointed to the Umpire Panel in 1999/2000. 

​

Tony has exemplified excellent dedication and commitment to our Association throughout his tenure, making significant contributions across various roles and responsibilities. He has served as President, Vice President, and Committee Member and his leadership has been instrumental in steering our association through various initiatives and challenges, always with a focus on fostering camaraderie and excellence among our members. Tony has contributed to the smooth operation of Association administration for 14 consecutive years, including roles as President (2019-2022) and Vic ePresident (2010-2014 and 2017-2019).

Tony's active involvement in both Crockett Shield and social cricket matches underscores his passion for the sport and his dedication to promoting its growth within our Association. His unwavering support for the bi-ennial Easter Event and associated festivities between VCAUSA and SACUSA has strengthened the ties between our Associations, showcasing his commitment to broader community engagement.
Not only was Tony a respected umpire known for his fairness and expertise on the field, but he is also a steadfast participant in all social functions, enriching the community spirit of our association. In addition to his Committee roles, his role as the cricket match coordinator across multiple seasons has been pivotal, ensuring smooth organization and enjoyable experiences for all participants.

 

Tony, affectionately known as Ace, was awarded the prestigious Robin Bailhache Commitment award in 2009/10 for his commitment over several years. The Members note that he is well supported by his family and particularly by his wife, Teresa.
Summary. His recommendation for Life Membership garnered unanimous support from the VCAUSA Members, reflecting acknowledgment of his meritorious service and invaluable contributions over the years.
