Gerry Schembri

At the 2018 Annual General Meeting, Gerry Schembri was presented with Life Membership of our Association. Gerry joined the Cricket Victoria panel of umpires and the Association in 2006–07.

 

Gerry has been on the Committee of Management since first joining it in 2009–10. He has contributed to management, freely giving his time in the following capacities:

• Treasurer 2009–10 to 2012–13  (four consecutive terms)

• President 2013–14 and 2014–15 (two consecutive terms)

• Vice President 2015–16 and 2016–17 (two consecutive terms)

• Secretary since 2017–18

 

Biennial Easter Event

Gerry has been the Association Convenor for the biennial Easter event in conjunction with the South Australian Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (SACUSA) for several events. He was awarded the prestigious Robin Bailhache Commitment award for his commitment over several years, but specifically for the 2016–17 year in which he was a member of the Association Easter management team and the Association Easter Convenor. The 2016–17 biennial Easter event was conducted in Adelaide, and was a particularly successful social event. The VCAUSA participated with many Association members, partners and families attending.
 

The award of Life Membership acknowledges Gerry’s involvement, contribution, valuable service and loyalty to our Association and is a thoroughly well-deserved honour.
