VCAUSA Life Member - Glenn Cumming

Glenn Cumming

Glenn joined the Association (formerly the VCAUA) in season 1990/91 and has umpired 443 Premier Matches across all grades, a record which includes 33 matches in Men's 1st XI and 26 matches in the 3 Women's Grades. In recent seasons he has been given a majority of Men's 2nd/3rd XI appointments where he has provided meritorious service as a Mentor to junior colleagues; he was awared Heritage Cap

No. 328 with the introduction of this system by Cricket Victoria.

Glenn has been a most enthusiastic supporter of the Association activities throughout his Umpiring career. a prime example of this has been his responsibility for the role of Badges and Accessories Controller, which he took over in 2009. The task not only involved providing the appropriate storage for the Association's stock in his private home, but the management of the sale of all items, the disposal of obsolete stock and the ordering of new stock of items such as off-field polo shirts, caps and jackets. The position of Badges and Accessories Controller is not a constituted Committee position, which makes Glenn's role on this activity even more commendable.

In addition, Glenn has also voluntarily carried out the task of auditing the Association's Annual Financial Report. He has been an enthusiastic supporter of the biennial Easte rExchange with SACUSA, having umpired the Crockett Shield match on 2 occasions - in 2007 and 2009, He has also been a regular attendee and supporter of the exchange event.

Also noteworthy is that Glenn received the prestigious Robin Bailhache Committment Award at the end of Season 2015-16 and the Cricket Victoria Umpire Service Recognnition Award at the end of Seaosn 2022-23. He was awared Life Membership of the VCAUSA in 2023
